I vow to not participate in fast fashion. From this point forward, I vow to wear only linens, silks and wool clothes.

I’ve been long on this sewing journey. I’ve been sewing for medieval dress since 2016 and my tastes for good fabrics have bloomed and grown even deeper as time has gone on. I feel the most comfortable wearing my medieval linen and wool gowns with their linen chemises underneath. When I first started sewing, I hand finished every seam because it looked the nicest.

There was times when people would laugh or belittle me for doing so much hand sewing when I could use a machine but I no longer care. Their opinions do not bring anything of value into my life. A hand finished seam, however, brings a lot of joy.

It’s time to bring my love of fabrics into my every day modern fashion. First step is to do another culling of clothes. This time, I will be savage towards any clothing that is a blend or has polyester in it. I will begin making a list of items I use every day and how I can replace them with a dress of finer quality fabrics made well.
Wish me luck, dear friends!
